View Ad Details The Don Mills Flyers Hockey Club has operated this most pretigeous tournament for Minor PeeWee aged players (1998 birth year for the 2009 tournament) for the past 49 years. It is the oldest tournament for this age group in North America. The tournament runs from December 27 to December 30th and will host 24 teams at the AAA calibre only. There will be 6 groups of 4 teams with 6 winners and two wild card teams moving to a quarter final. The winners will advance to the semi finals on the 30th and the winners to the Championship later that same day. There is a three game guaranty in the round robin with six games possible if your team goes right through. We will have additional ice booked for you to play teams in other divisions. Contacts will be sent to you well in advance of the tournament so arrangements can be made with the teams you would like to play. Games are two ten minute and one fifteen minute periods stopped time with a flood between 2nd and 3rd periods. The quarter and semi finals will be three ten minute periods and the Championship game will be 10-10-15 stopped time. There is a Championship keeper trophy; gold and silver medals; and an all star team selected with all star trophies. Come and see the Hockey Hall of Fame; the world famous Ontario Science Centre; the home of Maple Leafs, Yorkville for the ladies, and no end of entertaining and exciting things to do in our wonderful city. We put teams up the Crowne Plaza Hotel Don Valley; the rate is $99 Cdn. This is a top rated hotel with a full health club; indoor pool and restaurants. The Hotel is within walking distance from the arenas we play in and is about 10 minutes from downtown. Don Mills is an affluent neighbourhood located near the centre of the city of Toronto. The entry fee to this tournament is $1095 Canadian and we DO NOT CHARGE ANY GATE FEE. The tournament is sanctioned by Hockey Canada and is fully insured.
