Hockey Tournament Description:

Thanksgiving (Canada)
Columbus Day (USA)

We invite only the best teams from the United States and all parts of Ontario to take part in the Terry Terrier Invitational for AA teams. In the past few years virtually all of the participants have been from outside the Toronto area, which means if you show up for this tournament you will not be playing teams from the Greater Toronto Hockey League. You will be playing teams from Northern, Central and Eastern Ontario or from Michigan and New York state.

Each team is guaranteed 4 games with five teams in each division in a round robin format. The two top teams played for the championship.

The 2009 tournament, which just happens to be our 25th annual, will start on October 9 and end on October 11. This means our Canadian teams will be able to spend Thanksgiving Monday at home with family. We will have six divisions, Minor Atom, Atom, Minor Peewee, Peewee, Minor Bantam and Bantam.

Thanksgiving is a time when we celebrate our good fortune. We think it’s also a time to salute those who have accomplished more than most of us can imagine, which is why every year we take a portion of the entry fees and donate it to the Easter Seals Fund. Over the years we have given more than $25,000 to our local Easter Seal campaign.

Each year during our opening ceremonies we make a contribution to Timmy or Tammy and we encourage everyone to attend the festivities. It’s a great to see how much joy your small gift or contribution can make. During the last two years we have also held a demonstration of Sledge Hockey, which has been a great success.
