Date(s): Nov 27, 09 - Nov 29, 09 Age Level: Minor Atom to Major Midget (2000, 99, 98, 97, 96, 95, 94, 93-92) Category: TIER III (A/B level competitive teams) Number of Teams: 60 in total (across all divisions) Games Per Team: 3 Game Minimum (up to 6, depending upon size of division) Format: Teams will participate in THREE (3) round-robin games. Those who qualify will proceed either to quarters or semifinals. Period Lengths: Atom will feature 2 x 10, 1 x 12 min stop time periods, Peewee will feature 1 x 10, 2 x 12 min stop time periods, Bantam will feature 3 x 12 min stop time periods, while Midget will feature 2 x 12, 1 x 15 min stop time periods. Tournament is for TIER III teams (ie. 'B' teams and 'A' teams from areas that do have 'AAA' hockey - eg. GTHL) - MD, AE and other 3rd tier competitive teams may also be admitted. No ALL-STAR or SELECT level teams will be admitted into this tournament, as per ODMHA regulations. Note that AE, MD, A, and B teams will compete together. Teams MUST be prepared to start as early as 8 a.m. on Friday, Novemer 27th (consideration will be given as much as possible to those teams travelling the furthest). Body Contact IS permitted at the Minor Peewee levels and up - no body checking is allowed in the Atom divisions. NOTE: No teams will be formally accepted until ODMHA sanctioning is received in mid June. Cost: Atom: $875 CAD; Peewee & Bantam: $895 CAD; Midget: $925 CAD (USD deduct $25) Description: The 5th edition of this very popular annual tournament is presented by the Stittsville Rams, and represents the first chance of the season for Ottawa area 'B' competitive teams (and 3rd tier teams from out of town) to compete against some great competition in the area's best facility. Whether you are new to this event, or returning as one of the 159 participant teams from the past three seasons, you are sure to have a blast! Make sure to sign up as early as possible to avoid disappointment, as several teams have ended up on a waiting list the last number of seasons! With 4 pads (3 NHL, 1 International), a full service restaurant overlooking the tournament action, and a friendly group of staff and volunteers looking after every detail, this tournament should be your best of the year!
